Job Details:
* Large, high-acuity emergency department serving adolescents through geriatric patients
* 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 74-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
* Every other weekend required
* Holiday coverage required: if 1-2 major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Floating is rare but may occur within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* 24 orientation hours required
* Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required; preference given to travelers with at least 3 completed ER travel contracts
* Epic EMR experience required (hard stop); Pyxis experience required
* Stroke and STEMI certified facility
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: TNCC, SANE
* Preferred experience: charge experience, community hospital, Trauma Level I or II
* Required skills include: interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, triage, IV vasopressors, blood product administration, central line care/management, care of ventilated patient, intubation, procedural sedation, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, continuous IV sedation, arterial line management, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and managing violent behavior
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy
