Opportunity:

CVICU Nights

Job Details:

* Night shift position in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
* Every other weekend required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 maintained during nights and weekends
* May float to MSICU, Neuro ICU, or Burn ICU as needed
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers are welcome
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
* Scrub color: Navy
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit consists of a mix of cardiac surgical and cardiac medical patients, with occasional adult medical ICU overflow
* 24-bed unit with a daily census of 20
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CVVHD/CRRT, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, sheath removal, and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

This facility is a comprehensive acute care hospital offering advanced cardiovascular intensive care services. The CVICU operates with a 24-bed unit and maintains a strong interdisciplinary support structure including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and physical therapy. The unit is well-equipped to handle complex cardiac surgical and medical cases, with additional overflow support for adult medical ICU patients.
