Opportunity:
RN - Med/Surg
Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Medical surgical unit with remote telemetry
* Patient ratio of 1:6 with a 38-bed unit and average daily census of 33
* Required charting systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Every other weekend coverage required
* Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th?12th); no RTO permitted during orientation week
* Holiday coverage expected: if 1?2 major holidays fall within assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Required certification: BLS
* Required skills: Med/Surg, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* GA or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* 24 orientation hours required
