Job Details:

* Minimum 3-5 years of experience required; 5 years of high risk experience preferred
* Work in a high risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 rooms and beds
* Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs; work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum and between campuses/sister facilities
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continue care of newborn until transfer to Postpartum
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections - hard stop requirement
* Must be able to provide newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections, thighs, and newborn assessments - hard stop requirement
* Administer and manage Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Experience with Epic EMR required; electronic fetal monitoring required
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Patient ratios: 1-2 patients
* 4 operating rooms on unit
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Patient age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Orientation hours: 36

This facility is a high risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit equipped with 31 rooms and 4 operating rooms, designed to support a wide range of obstetric cases. The unit maintains comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services. Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines and the facility utilizes Epic electronic medical records and electronic fetal monitoring to deliver high-quality patient care.
