Job Details:

* Night shift position with hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Schedule is 4x12 or 3x12 nights
* Weekday and weekend shifts required with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* 34-bed medical/surgical unit with telemetry
* Patient ratios of 1:5-7 with a daily census of approximately 30 patients
* Treats adult patient population
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be through American Heart Association)
* Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
* Charting system: Cerner
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission
* Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles from the facility
* Skills expected include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care and management, CVA care, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, telemetry, PICC line management, wound care and wound vac, tracheostomy care and management, PCA, phlebotomy, and use of rapid response and code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Maximum of 2-3 call offs permitted per contract

This facility operates a dynamic 34-bed medical unit dedicated to providing exceptional care for patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions. The unit features an experienced nursing team including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, clinical assistants, unit clerks, and patient care technicians who collaborate to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. An acuity tool is utilized to optimize patient assignments and ensure appropriate staffing levels, while clinical nurse coordinators provide leadership on every shift, facilitating daily huddles, managing patient flow, and rounding on patients.
