Opportunity:

Surgical Technologist - Non Certified

Job Details:

* Assist surgical team members during operative procedures in an ambulatory surgery setting
* Prepare surgical suite, supplies, and equipment to meet environmental safety and infection control standards
* Ensure integrity of sterile packaging by opening supplies aseptically and controlling environmental factors
* Regularly check equipment and supplies for proper working order prior to each surgical procedure
* Perform surgical scrub responsibilities for preoperative patient care
* Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments during surgical procedures
* Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
* Identify, correct, and report aseptic technique breaks to appropriate personnel
* Assist registered nurse with patient preparation, transfers, and counting procedures
* Actively participate in the time-out process and identify potentially unsafe conditions
* Assist with room turnover, cleanup, patient transporting, and positioning
* Maintain, review, and order inventory based on scheduled procedures and stock on hand
* Ophthalmology skills are required
* Minimum of one year of related experience or training in a clinical setting and surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery facility required
* High school diploma or GED required
* Graduate of an approved course for OR Surgical Technologists required
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
* Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred
