Opportunity:

RN - Oncology

Job Details:

* Day shift position working 4 x 9-hour shifts, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
* Monday through Friday schedule with days determined by patient census
* No on-call or weekend requirements
* Minimum 2 years of recent chemotherapy infusion experience required
* EPIC experience required
* ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certificate required
* Required certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS, Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) or Chemotherapy Immunotherapy (CHIM) or ONC/ONCC-CHIM
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
* Oncology nurse experience in a radiation department preferred
* Conduct baseline assessments and nursing history of outpatients receiving radiation therapy including vital signs, pain assessment, and medication history
* Utilize Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) guidelines in documentation
* Assess patients for fall risk, allergies, and communicate findings to physicians and care team
* Conduct weekly assessments of patients for signs and symptoms of side effects from radiation therapy
* Assist physicians with procedures including Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy, and examinations
* Perform blood draws, start intravenous therapy for administration of intravenous contrast, and administer medications as ordered by physician
* Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff
* Coordinate care with other disciplines utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment
