Opportunity:
Surgical Technologist
Job Details:
* Day shift position
* Minimum 2 years of recent open heart experience required
* Must have EPIC experience
* Ability to scrub open hearts in a solo capacity as well as in tandem with a second scrub
* Ability to take call 50% of the time, typically a full week at a time
* Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases
* Check required supplies and equipment prior to each case
* Assemble appropriate supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures
* Set up operative instrumentation and sterile field for expedient retrieval and utilization
* Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse according to established standards
* Set up and maintain a neat and orderly sterile field with careful attention to aseptic technique
* Label solutions according to established standards
* Clean equipment and facilities as necessary
* Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities
* Required certifications: Certified Surgery Technician (CST) or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification and BLS/CPR certification
* Preferred: Open to teaching and training RN to scrub CV cases and experience in general OR cases including robotic, ortho, urology, and gynecology
