Opportunity:
Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehabilitation
Job Details:
* HCHB experience is required with no exceptions
* Work in an 80-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
* Patient ratios are 1:6 during day shifts and 1:8 during night shifts
* Unit support includes 1 Health Unit Coordinator and 2 Rehabilitation Technicians
* Document using Meditech and RehabConnect electronic medical record systems
* Scheduling is managed by a central scheduler
* Position is dedicated to the rehabilitation facility and is not a float position, but may be flexed
* Treat patients with TBI, stroke, orthopedic, cardiac, spinal cord injury, pulmonary, and debility diagnoses
* Perform procedures including e-stim, ultrasound, splinting, wound care, and limb wrapping
* Utilize equipment such as Sara Steady, Sara Plus, Hoyer lift, Viking, and sliding boards
* Apply hands-on occupational therapy skills with knowledge of relevant medical conditions
* Experience with EMR documentation and compliance required
* Participate in team conferences and interdisciplinary communication
* Conduct family trainings and make durable medical equipment recommendations
* Must be proficient in safe patient handling techniques
* Must have familiarity with protocols to prevent complications such as autonomic dysreflexia, bowel/bladder programs, and skin integrity and wound prevention
* Must have training in wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive equipment
* Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and critical thinking skills required
* Inpatient rehabilitation hospital experience preferred
* Current licensure to practice in North Carolina required
* Dress code requires rehab casual attire or black scrub bottoms with eggplant purple scrub tops

This inpatient rehabilitation hospital is a specialized facility with 80 beds dedicated to providing comprehensive rehabilitation services. The facility holds YCVA certification and offers a variety of specialized equipment to tailor therapy to individual patient needs. As a teaching hospital with active student rotations, the facility fosters an environment of learning and interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting a young CVA program certification and a well-rounded rehabilitation team.
