Opportunity:

TRAVEL - RN - ED

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Emergency Department setting with 27 beds
* Patient ratio of 4:1 with a charge nurse who typically does not carry a patient assignment
* Work in a busy ED with a 30% admit rate, 10% low acuity patient volume, 20% ESI 2 patient volume, and 28% EMS rate
* Perform procedures typical of a Level II trauma ED, certified chest pain center, and thrombectomy capable stroke center
* Provide psych and at-risk patient care with important patient safety monitoring and focus
* Perform procedural sedation primarily with Propofol, Etomidate, and Ketamine
* Utilize ALTO (alternatives to opioids) pain management therapies
* Use Meditech (DOS platform) as the EMR system
* Minimum 1 year of current acute care ED hospital experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and CPI Blue card
* CEN certification and/or Meditech experience preferred
* Experience working in a high-volume ED unit preferred
* Must demonstrate proactive engagement with anticipating next steps in plan of care
* Must have exceptional patient and family communication and customer service skills

Facility:

This facility is a Level II trauma emergency department and certified chest pain center with thrombectomy capable stroke center capabilities. The emergency department operates with approximately 60 staff members, adjusting staffing levels throughout the day based on patient volume. The facility is known for its innovative ALTO pain management program, which has decreased opioid usage by 34%, and features a highly stable night shift team with consistent charge nurse leadership. ED leadership is actively involved in direct patient care, hands-on staff education and training, and patient rounding to ensure the highest quality of care.
