Opportunity:
RN-Acute OB-ER-Med Surg
Job Details:
* Permanent placement position working 12-hour night shifts from 4:45 PM to 5:15 AM
* Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
* Float between Medical/Surgical and OB units within a Critical Access Hospital setting
* 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with 20 Med/Surg beds and 4 LDRP rooms plus 1 post-partum/C-section prep room
* Average daily census of 8-10 Med/Surg patients (majority skilled care level) and approximately 85-90 OB deliveries per year
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: OB - 1:1 active labor, 1:2 early labor, up to 1:3 post-partum couplets; Med/Surg - typical 1:3-4, up to 1:5
* CNAs available on both shifts
* Must be able to work independently in Labor & Delivery, post-partum, and Med/Surg
* Must be able to serve as backup charge nurse; previous charge nurse experience required
* On-call only if agreeable due to low census; callback only in emergency situations
* Blocked scheduling will be attempted but cannot be guaranteed for all weeks
* Guaranteed set hours per week except during holidays when unit is closed
* Billing runs Monday through Sunday
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and minimum Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring
* Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty area required; previous Critical Access Hospital experience beneficial
* Electronic Medical Record charting experience required; EPIC experience beneficial
* Associate Degree or Certificate required
* OB scrubs provided by facility; staff choice for Med/Surg scrub colors
* Ideal candidate is a hard worker, resilient, manages change well, sociable, willing to assist and train less experienced nurses, and assertive and confident in skills

This critical access hospital provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services to the surrounding rural community. The facility operates a Medical/Surgical unit and an obstetrics department with LDRP rooms and post-partum care capabilities, supporting both routine and complex patient needs.
