Opportunity:
RN - Progressive Care Unit/Step Down
Job Details:
* Night shift position in a Progressive Care Unit/Step Down environment
* Provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients who do not require ICU transfer
* Anticipated patient populations include post-op surgical patients, pre and post PCI care, pacemaker placement, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, and sepsis
* Operate advanced medical equipment including central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, multiple IVs, long-term stable ventilation support, and CPAP/BiPAP O2 support
* Manage common IV medications including Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine (non-titrated), Lasix or Bumex, Amiodarone, and Dopamine (non-titrated)
* Perform basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
* Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes
* Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff
* Provide direct patient care from admission to discharge including discharge planning
* Give direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping, and Dietary Staff
* Complement the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit when staffing actions are required
* Pediatric experience preferred but not required
* Experience in post heart catheterization and post-op vascular surgery preferred
* Required certifications: Current State of Montana RN Licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: EPNC, TNCC
