Job Details:

* ASAP start needed
* Day shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM; Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Weekend rotation required: out of 8 weekend shifts per schedule, must work at least 4 (could be back-to-back)
* Holiday rotation required
* No call required; option to pick up call may be available
* Must be willing to work Charge as needed
* Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery required
* Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment at a facility comparable in size and acuity
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Intermediate or Advanced FHM, MOAB
* Skills required include: titrating Pitocin, fetal scalp electrodes, cervical exams, assisting CRNA with epidural placement, management of insulin drips and magnesium drips, shoulder dystocia management, circulating c-section and/or receiving baby in OR, neonatal resuscitation, assist with placement and monitoring of IUPC, newborn care including lactation support and safe skin-to-skin protocol
* May float to Mother-Baby unit for Antepartum, Postpartum, or occasionally Mother-Baby (Newborn Nursery RN would complete 24-hour labs)
* Charge nurse experience must be noted in submission
* EMR: Cerner with Fetal Link
* IV pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Fetal Monitoring: Fetal Link
* Scrub color: Navy - provided on site (6 credits for scrub machine allotted); street clothes worn in and out
* Free parking on site
* Orientation: 1 day with HR/preceptor, 1 day of OR training/PACU, 1 day with preceptor on night shift if contracted to nights
* Patient ratios: Cervical Ripening 1:1-3, Laboring 1:1-3, Active Labor 1:1, Couplet/Postpartum/Antepartum 3 mother-baby couplets or 3 Antepartum/NICU moms

Facility:

This facility is a Level III NICU and goal-designated safe sleep facility averaging 1,800 deliveries per year with approximately 4 scheduled events daily including c-sections and versions. The unit features 2 OBED triage rooms, 7 labor rooms, 2 triage rooms, PreOp/PACU in the labor room, 2 OR suites, and 25 Postpartum/Antepartum/GYN/Mother-Baby beds. The facility covers a large geographical area and serves as one of only two NICUs in Maine, receiving a high volume of referrals for any cases requiring NICU-level care. Comprehensive 24/7 support is available including anesthesia, house supervisor, respiratory therapy, OB provider on-call coverage, certified midwife, CST, and charge nurse.
