RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Details:

* Every 3rd weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* 24 months of Labor & Delivery experience required
* Nursery and Mother-Baby experience highly preferred
* Post-partum experience preferred
* First-time travelers welcome
* EPIC EMR experience required
* May float to Med Surg or ICU to assist with medication pass or tech cares on an infrequent basis
* Labor & Delivery unit includes 3 LDRP beds and 4 postpartum beds with 1:1 ratio for active labor and 1:3-4 ratio for couplets
* Responsibilities include titration of pitocin and care for labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn nursery patients
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and Intermediate EFM/Electronic Fetal Monitoring certificate
* Iowa nursing license required with active or compact/multistate status verified through Nursys
* Skills checklist specific to Labor & Delivery discipline required
* Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
* Driver's license required
* Work history must reflect 24 months of current Labor & Delivery experience

Facility:

This healthcare facility offers a comprehensive Labor & Delivery unit alongside a Med Surg unit, providing a wide range of patient care services. The Labor & Delivery department manages approximately 300 deliveries annually and supports patients through labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn nursery care. The Med Surg unit consists of 23 beds and serves patients requiring bariatric surgery, orthopedic, and general medical-surgical care.
