Job Details:

* Work day shifts Monday through Friday from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, with early 6:00 AM start required for Open Heart Case Prep (notified the day before)
* Shift includes call responsibilities in addition to day shifts
* Weeknight call required 3-4 times per week from 3:15 PM to 6:45 AM
* Weekend call required every other to every third weekend, Friday at 3:15 PM through Monday at 6:45 AM
* Rotating holiday schedule with willingness to work holidays required
* 15-minute call response time required; 8-hour reprieve shifts provided post-call with sleep room available
* Work in 2 CVOR suites with 1-3 cases per day depending on case type
* Common cases include open hearts (CABG, Valve, Aneurysms), thoracotomies, VATS, Convergent, AAA, carotids, ION robotic cases, ECMO, Impella 5.5, and Stryker towers
* Must be able to first scrub for open heart cases including CABG and Valves
* Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
* Must be willing to cross-train into general OR specialties if CV volumes are low, including ortho cases (cross-training to second scrub)
* Must be willing to float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter to supplement hours during low case volumes
* 4-5 days of unit-based orientation provided, plus 2 buddy call shifts with flexible orientation based on recent heart experience
* Scrub colors and dress code are provided
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certifications: BLS Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA, ND UAP
* BSN not required
* Valid state license required for submission

This acute care facility operates at a Level 2 Trauma designation and features a dedicated cardiovascular operating room department with 2 CVOR suites. The department handles a comprehensive range of complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, supported by advanced technology including robotic surgical systems, ECMO, and Impella 5.5 capabilities. The department is known for its family-oriented atmosphere, with charge nurse coverage available across all shifts and strong leadership support throughout the week.
