PCU/Stepdown RN

Job Details:

* PCU/Stepdown RN position requiring cardiac drip titration and management experience this is a hard stop requirement
* Minimum of 1 year of experience required
* Weekend coverage required every other weekend (Friday?Saturday for nights or Saturday?Sunday for days/evenings)
* Float may be required to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities refusal to float may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Patient ratio experience of 4?5 patients required
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* 42-bed unit serving patients with diagnoses including CHF, Afib RVR, Chest Pain/Rule Out MI, Heart Cath, Cardiac drips, and traditional Medical-Surgical patients
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tube management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, pacemaker management, PICC line management, and more
* Charting system: Epic experience required (hard stop)
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Candidates may choose one holiday either Thanksgiving or Christmas but cannot have both
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the submittal process
* Charge experience preferred
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, to be submitted during the compliance process prior to start

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center, as well as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, with a total of 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a dynamic and educational environment supported by an extensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and a unit secretary. The PCU/Stepdown unit consists of 42 beds and is equipped with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip capabilities.
