Opportunity:

RN - Pediatric ICU

Job Details:

* Pediatric Critical Care unit with a patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend required
* Float required to NICU or units within skill set, with orientation provided
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* First-time travelers accepted with required experience
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
* Patient diagnoses include Pediatric Critical Care, ENT, General Surgery, Ortho, and Post-Op/Pre-Op
* Required certifications: BLS and PALS
* Preferred certifications: NRP and CRRT
* Required skills include: breathing treatments, chest tube set-up and care, CPAP/BiPAP, high frequency vents, oscillators, procedural sedation, RSI - Rapid Sequence Intubation drugs, trach care, ventilator management, blood and blood products administration, CVP monitoring, 12-lead EKG, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, Port-A-Cath/vascular device access and care, syringe pumps, traction/halo/pin care, triple lumen catheter, and wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Facility:

This facility is part of a larger health system that operates multiple locations in the region. The pediatric intensive care unit consists of 6 beds and maintains a low daily census of 2 to 4 patients, allowing for highly focused and specialized patient care. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and provides a comprehensive range of critical care services for pediatric patients.
