PCU/Stepdown RN
Job Details:
* PCU/Stepdown position caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Weekend coverage required with schedule rotating every other weekend (Friday?Saturday for nights or Saturday?Sunday for days/evenings)
* Patient ratio of 4?5 patients per nurse
* Candidates may choose one holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) but cannot have both
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Float may be required to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors when overstaffed
* May be expected to float between nearby sister facilities
* Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required with cardiac drip experience
* Hard stop requirement: must be able to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip titration, insulin drip titration, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, pacemaker management, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, sheath removal, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Facility:
This is a short-term acute care facility and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. With 629 total staffed beds and a teaching hospital designation, the facility provides a comprehensive range of services supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more. The PCU unit contains 42 beds and commonly treats patients with diagnoses including CHF, AFib with RVR, chest pain, cardiac catheterization, and cardiac drip management.
