PCU/Stepdown RN
Job Details:
* PCU/Stepdown RN position requiring cardiac drip experience with the ability to titrate and manage drips (hard stop requirement)
* Weekend coverage required with schedule of every other weekend (Friday-Saturday for nights or Saturday-Sunday for days/evenings)
* Float may be required to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed
* Patient ratio experience of 4-5 patients
* Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics
* 42-bed unit
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, pacemaker management, PICC line management, post cardiac angiogram care, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, sheath removal, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, Afib RVR, chest pain, cardiac catheterization, cardiac drip management, and traditional medical-surgical patients
* Special equipment includes cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip management
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Candidates may choose one holiday (either Thanksgiving or Christmas, not both)
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center as well as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it maintains high standards of clinical care and supports a wide range of specialties and interdisciplinary services. The unit utilizes Epic for charting and offers comprehensive support services including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and respiratory services to ensure quality patient outcomes.
