Opportunity:

RN - Behavioral Health

Job Details:

* Work with acute psychiatric patients including those with Major Mental Health Illness and chronic behaviors such as violence, aggression, mania, and self-harm
* Unit bed size of 10 with patient ratios of up to 1:3-5 depending on unit and shift
* Every other weekend schedule required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
* Must float across all Des Moines campuses to like units
* Experience with all age groups required including adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients (home unit is Geriatric)
* Minimum 15 months of experience in Psych/Behavioral Health capacity required
* EPIC EMR experience required
* First-time travelers accepted with 12 months of Psych/Behavioral Health experience
* Recent or current inpatient experience highly preferred
* Equipment competency in restraints required
* Scrub colors: Navy Blue solids
* De-escalation certificate preferred (MOAB or CPI) - can be obtained during onboarding
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
* Iowa nursing license required - must be active or compact/multistate at time of submission
* All candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
