Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* Work three 12-hour shifts per week
* Every other weekend required
* 46-bed Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
* At least two years of Med/Surg experience required
* Telemetry experience required
* Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) experience required
* General Med/Surg skills, EKG interpretation, CPAP management, and port access required
* Advanced skills preferred: chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, drains, post-dialysis assessment, central lines, and blood transfusions
* Procedures performed on unit include telemetry monitoring and paracentesis
* Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
* Equipment used includes GE Apex Pro Telemetry box, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, Baxter IV pumps, iMobile, Alaris PCA IV pump, Welch Allen Vitals machine, and Glucometer
* May float to 3 South (post-surgical Med/Surg) or PCU (to staff telemetry overflow)
* Required certifications: Active nursing license in good standing (with compact if indicated), BLS required, ACLS preferred, current NIH stroke certification (must be certified annually)
* Dress code: Navy blue or gray scrubs required; no t-shirts, fleece jackets, or sweatshirts; scrub jackets and long sleeve shirts under scrub top permitted in any color or pattern; no royal blue scrubs permitted
