Opportunity:
Respiratory Therapist - Critical Care
Job Details:
* RRT preferred; CRT candidates with extensive experience will be considered with manager approval
* Variable shifts preferred; will start on day shift (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM) with potential transition to night shift (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
* Every other weekend rotation required
* Voluntary call only - 2 hours before shift start and 2 hours after shift end
* Float to other trained units only
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Work in critical care settings including Adult ICUs, Cardiac Critical Care Unit, Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department, Intermediate Care Unit, General Medical Floors, and Level III NICU/PICU
* Common patient diagnoses include COPD, CHF, Cystic Fibrosis, ARDS, MVA Trauma/Surgery, Pneumonia, Lung Cancer, Stroke, ALS, GBS, COVID-19, and RSV
* Critical care focused and protocol-driven environment
* Required skills include airway and ventilator management, ABG puncture and analysis, non-invasive ventilation, code blue and rapid response experience, and inhaled medication administration
* Equipment used includes Servo U, Servo I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60, V30, EV300, and Vero Biotech Nitric Delivery
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications for Adult RT: BLS; NICU/PICU/Peds RT: BLS and NRP (required), PALS (preferred)
* Orientation includes 1 general orientation shift with RT Educator and 1 shift per each unit trained to (generally 4-5 shifts total)
* Scrub color: Any professional scrub color or pattern; access to OR scrub machines available
* Free on-site parking available

This 411-bed Level II Trauma Center provides comprehensive critical care services across multiple specialized units, including Adult ICUs, a Cardiac Critical Care Unit, an Emergency Department, an Intermediate Care Unit, General Medical Floors, and a Level III NICU/PICU. The facility operates with a highly experienced and protocol-driven Respiratory Therapy team supported by Lead/Charge staff, a Manager, Assistant Manager, RT Educator, and Medical Director, ensuring a collaborative and well-structured work environment.
