Job Details:
* Friday through Sunday shift schedule
* 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* No on-call required
* Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length to which the contractor is assigned
* Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
* Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off
* Scrub color: Green
* Charting system: Epic
* Free parking available
* Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand up to 5 hours
* High acuity, fast-paced Level 1 trauma center environment
* Knowledge of ortho, neuro, cardiovascular, and GI scope service lines required
* Required certifications: BLS, CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA
* Required skills include: Chemical agents for decontamination, disinfectants, use of washers/sterilizers, sterilization wrapping procedures, sets/trays assembly, dental, ear/nose/throat, general, laparoscopic, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, robotics, and urology
* Additional preferred skills include: Automated Endoscope Reprocessors (AER), bariatrics, biological indicators, bronchoscopes, cardiac, chemical indicators, cystoscopes, EGD scopes, endoscopes, endoscopy, equipment documentation, fiber optics, flex sigmoidoscopes, high-level disinfection (HLD), immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS), OB/GYN, ophthalmology, ortho/total joints, podiatry, proper selection of wrapping materials, robotics, scope/probe reprocessing, steam sterilization testing/monitoring, sterile processing microsystem (SPM), Steris testing/monitoring, transplant, uteroscopes, and vascular
Facility:
This tertiary care hospital is a 5-time Magnet Award winner and operates as a Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital. With 456 staffed beds and 630 total beds, the facility serves a high-acuity patient population across a wide range of service lines including orthopedics, neurology, cardiovascular, and GI. The sterile processing department handles an average daily tray volume of 250-500 and operates with 24 rooms to support the facility's diverse surgical and procedural needs.
