RN - PCU/Stepdown

Job Details:

* PCU/Stepdown nurse position requiring cardiac drip titration and management experience (hard stop requirement)
* Weekend coverage required with schedule of every other weekend (Friday?Saturday for nights or Saturday?Sunday for days/evenings)
* Float may be required to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Patient ratio experience of 4?5 patients required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Orientation: 12 hours
* Must be able to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Candidates may choose one holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) but cannot have both
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip titration, insulin drip titration, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, pacemaker management, PICC line management, sheath removal, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Common diagnoses include CHF, Afib RVR, chest pain/rule out MI, heart cath, cardiac drips, and traditional medical-surgical patients
* Special equipment includes cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip management
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital designated as both a Level II Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. With 629 total staffed beds, it operates as a teaching hospital offering comprehensive inpatient and specialty services. The PCU/Stepdown unit consists of 42 beds and is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.
