PCU/Stepdown RN

Job Details:

* PCU/Stepdown RN position requiring cardiac drip experience with the ability to titrate and manage drips (hard stop requirement)
* Weekend coverage required with schedule rotating every other weekend (Friday-Saturday for nights or Saturday-Sunday for days/evenings)
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Patient ratios of 4-5 patients
* 42-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: Any color for RN
* May float to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day (candidates may choose one of either Thanksgiving or Christmas but cannot have both)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tube management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pacemaker management, PICC line management, tracheostomy care and management, wound care and wound vac, and more
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, Afib with RVR, chest pain/rule out MI, heart catheterization, cardiac drips, and traditional medical-surgical patients
* Special equipment used includes cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip management
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Previous charge nurse experience preferred
