Opportunity:
RN - PCU/Stepdown
Job Details:
* Weekend coverage required; schedule is every other weekend (Friday?Saturday for nights or Saturday?Sunday for days/evenings)
* Candidates may choose one holiday either Thanksgiving or Christmas but cannot have both
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, or New Year's Day
* Float may be required to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Patient ratio experience of 4?5 patients required
* 42-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, Afib RVR, chest pain/rule out MI, heart cath, cardiac drips, and traditional medical-surgical patients
* Hardstop requirement: Must be able to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
* Cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip equipment required
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, titration of insulin drips, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, pacemaker management, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
* 2 professional references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years (charge RNs/leads accepted)

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center, also designated as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. With 629 staffed beds, it operates as a teaching hospital offering a wide range of specialty services.
