Opportunity:

RN - Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool

Job Details:

* Minimum 1.5 years of well-rounded Pediatrics experience required
* Active NJ or Compact license required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS; APHON preferred
* EPIC charting system experience required
* Every other weekend requirement (night weekend is Friday/Saturday)
* Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Patient ratio of 1:5; ratios vary based on unit, census, patient acuity, and staffing
* Scrubs: Navy Blue
* Float between Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (no chemo/infusions), Pediatrics, Adolescents, Newborn Nursery, and Special Care Nursery (growers/feeders); will take Med/Surg assignments in all areas including PICU/NICU and Pediatric ED
* Candidates must float within their skillset without exception
* Patient age groups include neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
* 24-bed unit
* IV therapy skills required: administer blood/blood products, central line/implanted line care, start IVs, TPN/Lipids, transfusions, IV pumps
* GI/Respiratory skills required: NG tube insertion/management, G-tube, tracheostomy care, respiratory treatments
* Cardiovascular skills required: interpretation of dysrhythmias, pulse oximetry
* Additional skills required: pre/post-op care, phlebotomy, Foley catheter
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
* First-time travelers accepted
* Local candidates accepted

This academic pediatric medical campus provides family-centered care for patients ranging from newborns through adolescents. The facility offers a comprehensive range of pediatric services including hematology/oncology in partnership with a nationally recognized cancer institute, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a Level IV NICU with Special Care Nursery, and a 24/7 Pediatric Emergency Department. The hospital holds national accreditation as a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and is part of New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system.
