Opportunity:
RN - Med/Surg Telemetry
Job Details:
* 36-hour night shift schedule
* Weekend shifts required
* Float to like units within scope as needed based on facility needs
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Self-scheduling
* Up to two pre-approved time-off requests available
* Patients include adults and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, wound care, detox, swing patients, CHF, and post-op
* Required skills include telemetry monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, IV insulin protocols, interpretation of arterial blood gases, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Special equipment includes telemetry, continuous pulse ox, Kangaroo pumps, EPIC pump integration, bed alarms, and Viking lift
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
Facility:
This community hospital operates a 20-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a daily census of 8 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The unit is equipped with modern medical technology and focuses on delivering quality care to adult and geriatric patient populations with a wide range of medical diagnoses and conditions.
