Opportunity:

Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist

Job Details:

* 7 on 7 off schedule working Wednesday through Tuesday during your scheduled work week
* Night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend required during scheduled work weeks
* Holidays will be worked if they fall within your scheduled shift week
* Overtime earned at greater than 80 hours per pay period
* Must be able to manage workflow independently while working overnight shifts
* Multitasking, ability to adjust priorities, and responding to codes and traumas is essential
* Perform laboratory analyses, tests, and procedures to assist in the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of diseases
* Accession and order tests in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and process specimens with referral to reference laboratories
* Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency
* Perform basic troubleshooting as needed
* Maintain documentation according to regulatory agency requirements and write laboratory policies and procedures
* Adhere to sterilization and infection control procedures due to regular exposure to infectious clinical specimens
* Perform analytical testing on patient specimens across all laboratory sections
* Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
* Must be comfortable performing routine phlebotomy and skilled at specimen acquisition
* MLT candidates must hold an Associate's degree from an approved school of Medical Technology/Laboratory Science and be certified by MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT), or CLT(NCA)
* MT candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from an approved school of Medical Technology/Laboratory Science and be certified by MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), or CLS(NCA)
* Minimum of one year of laboratory experience preferred
* Knowledge of hospital laboratory practices, infection control requirements, and chemical and biological hazards required
* Must be able to work with minimal to no supervision and adjust priorities as situations change

The facility maintains strict adherence to regulatory standards and infection control protocols, ensuring accurate and reliable results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
