Opportunity:

RN - ED Boarder/Observation Unit

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three days per week (3x12)
* Block scheduling potential but not guaranteed
* Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 6-week period (2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays), along with 3 Mondays and 3 Fridays
* No travel partners allowed
* Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
* Experience with pre-cardiac cath and managing ports required
* Travel experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
* Active Kentucky or compact nursing license required at time of submission
* EPIC charting experience required
* Support ED boarders across the system patients waiting for a bed in the ED requiring inpatient care
* Float to observation units at Edgewood and Florence campuses as needed, as well as MS and MS Tele units
* Patient population is adults with a daily census of 36 beds
* Patient ratio experience of 5-6 patients
* Key skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PICC line management, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis management, neuro stepdown, tracheostomy care/management, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Special equipment includes lift equipment, iPad for communication, and pacemaker interrogation
* Scrubs must be navy blue with no agency or brand logos
* Nails must be natural and less than 1/4" in length; polish is acceptable
* No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted
* Strict no-call policy in place
