Opportunity:

Post Partum RN

Job Details:

* 36 or 48 hour shift option available
* Weekends required
* Float required within the service area including NICU, Labor & Delivery, and Antepartum units
* Patient ratio of 3 to 4 patients
* Unit serves adolescents, infants, and adults
* Daily census of 20 with 22 beds and 22 rooms available
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Unit accepts first-time travelers
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Required skills include: administration of blood and blood products, antepartum care, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, assist with circumcision and post-op assessment, baby friendly protocols, bladder assessment and Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instructions, car seat education, cesarean section care, cord care, couplet care, discharge teaching to parents, episiotomy and incision care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, infant identification, isolation precautions and PPE, IV antibiotics, care for large for gestational age and low birth weight infants, magnesium sulfate therapy, metabolic screening, multiple births, neonatal abstinence syndrome, newborn assessment and hypoglycemia management, opioid management, pain assessment and management, phlebotomy, phototherapy, Pitocin administration, post-epidural management, postpartum and postpartum hemorrhage care, pregnancy-induced hypertension management, special care nursery/Level II, starting and maintaining IVs, teaching circumcision care to parents, thermoregulation, use of electric and manual breast pumps, PCA IV management, vaccine administration, and vaginal delivery support
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, phlebotomy, social services, and pharmacy
