RN - Emergency Department
Job Details:
* 12.5-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule block required
* No on-call or float requirements
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* BSN required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Prior travel experience required - no first-time travelers
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Must be comfortable with pediatric patients of all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, and geriatrics
* Trauma, adult/pediatric ED, and pediatric experience strongly preferred
* Teaching facility experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, BSN
* TNCC and NIHSS preferred
* California nursing license required - EMSA not accepted
* Must submit RTO at time of initial submittal - cannot be added after profile is sent to manager
* Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions/PPE, and triage
* Navy blue scrubs provided
* Experience with ECMO equipment required
Facility:
This world-class academic medical center is a Level 1 Trauma Center and serves as a combined adult and pediatric emergency department handling approximately 180 patient visits per day across 550 beds. The facility operates as a STEMI Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Transplant Center, and Magnet facility, and is a designated LA County Base Station and paramedic receiving facility. As a teaching, tertiary, and quaternary care facility, it also houses a psychiatric facility, a perinatal facility, a pediatric facility, and an associated ophthalmology department. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, unit secretary, and more.
