Opportunity:
RN - Telemetry
Job Details:
* 26-week assignment with a hard start date of 11/2
* Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience required
* Must be able to float to Med-Surg and other Telemetry units
* Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend coverage required
* No on-call requirement
* Scrubs: Royal Blue
* Patient population: Adolescents through Geriatrics
* Average census of 36 patients across 36 beds
* EPIC experience required
* Ventilator experience required, including care of chronic/long-term ventilated patients
* Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Must pass advanced EKG exam prior to start (80% minimum passing score, two attempts permitted) and onsite EKG competency
* Allscripts charting system experience preferred
* Accepts first-time travelers
* Required cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry on-unit and remote monitoring, and use of Rapid Response Teams
* Required cardiovascular skills include: Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, and Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery
* Required IV therapy and phlebotomy skills include: blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs
* Required medication skills include: Heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips (no titration), and managing vasoactive drips (no titration)
* Required respiratory and thoracic skills include: care of chronic/long-term ventilated patients, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), external CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen face masks, and tracheostomy management
* No approved time off during the first two weeks of assignment
* Any requested time off must be submitted at time of submittal and cannot be changed, only cancelled
