Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
* Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 on days through 2300 and 1:5-6 on nights after 2300
* No self-scheduling; block scheduling available if it meets unit needs
* Friday/Saturday/Sunday shift option available
* No on-call or standby requirement unless for an extra shift
* Floating to other units as needed based on census
* No scrubs provided and no specific scrub color requirement
* 1 shift of HR onboarding and 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
* Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment required
* Experience with post-procedural cath lab patients required, including management of TR band compression devices
* Experience with post-cardiac surgical patients required
* Responsible for titrating drips including Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and Dobutamine (no vasopressors)
* Responsible for incentive spirometry; respiratory therapy available 24/7 for nebulizers, inhalers, CPAP, BiPAP, and Vapotherm
* 24/7 central telemetry unit monitors all non-critical care patients and reads strips
* Charge nurse takes a modified assignment
* Nurse aides available on unit
* Charting system: Cerner
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)

Facility:

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a comprehensive medical and intermediate care unit with 29 beds. The unit specializes in cardiac medical and surgical patients, including post-cath lab and post-cardiac surgery cases, managing conditions such as CHF, arrhythmias, chest pain, and more. The facility supports staff with a 24/7 central telemetry monitoring unit and around-the-clock respiratory therapy services.
