PCU/Stepdown RN
Job Details:
* PCU/Stepdown unit with 42 beds serving adult and geriatric patient populations
* Weekend coverage required with schedule of every other weekend (Friday-Saturday for nights or Saturday-Sunday for days/evenings)
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, or New Year's Day
* Candidates may choose one holiday between Thanksgiving or Christmas, but cannot have both
* Float may be required to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Charge experience preferred
* Patient ratio experience of 4-5 patients
* Epic charting system experience required
* Cardiac drip titration and management is a hard stop requirement
* Must be able to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Scrub color: Any color for RN
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip titration, insulin drip titration, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, pacemaker management, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, Afib RVR, chest pain/rule out MI, heart cath, cardiac drips, and traditional medical-surgical patients
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center, as well as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, with a total of 629 staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a dynamic and educational environment for healthcare professionals. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers a comprehensive range of interdisciplinary support services to ensure high-quality patient care across its units.
