Opportunity:
RN - Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Neurology)
Job Details:
* Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts
* Patient ratio of 1:6
* Half of contract weekends required
* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
* Travel experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* Care for young adult through geriatric patient populations
* Provide medical-surgical level monitoring, interventions, and care
* Manage patients with neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses including acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, TIA, seizure disorders, and traumatic brain injury
* Utilize continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring
* Required skills include: blood product administration, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA care, feeding tube care, heparin and insulin administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, pre/post neurosurgery care, spinal cord injury care, telemetry monitoring, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
Facility:
This facility features a 19-bed private room medical-surgical unit specializing in neurological and stroke-related conditions. The unit is equipped with continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry monitoring to support early recognition of changes in patient condition. The interdisciplinary team is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care focused on neurological assessment, stroke recovery, secondary stroke prevention, and optimizing functional outcomes. Comprehensive support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation.
