Opportunity:
RN - High Acuity Float Pool
Job Details:
* Day shift position with 3 weekend shifts required per schedule
* Self-scheduling available
* No on-call or standby requirements
* Holiday requirements apply
* Must have EPIC charting system experience
* Must have prior floating experience (float pool shifts, other facilities, and/or floating to other floors/units)
* Float pool includes the following units: Critical Care Unit, Observation, Med Surg, General Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Telemetry, and Progressive Care
* Nurse-to-patient ratios follow standard AACN CCU staffing - assignments are 1:2 depending on acuity, may be 1:3 if acuity is lower or patient has transfer orders
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; high acuity experience preferred
* Required to titrate drips including Epi, Norepi, Dobutamine, Propofol, Esmolol, Hydromorphone, Midazolam, and CIS
* Respiratory therapy equipment includes ventilators, high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP
* Phillips monitors in use; RNs required to read strips with at least one monitor tech available
* Nurse aids available on unit, typically 1-2 depending on daily census
* Charge nurses and house supervisors are assignment-free
* Assignments created by charge RN at 0645 with RNs choosing assignments
* Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS
* Washington state or compact nursing license required
* Common patient diagnoses include medical, surgical, neurological, and cardiac conditions
Facility:
This acute care facility operates a comprehensive High Acuity Float Pool spanning multiple specialized units including critical care, medical-surgical, oncology, telemetry, and various surgical departments. The facility utilizes EPIC as its charting system and maintains Phillips monitoring equipment throughout its units. The organization supports a structured orientation process including General Hospital Orientation, unit-specific modules, and on-unit orientation shifts to ensure traveler success.
