Opportunity:

RN - ED Boarder/Observation

Job Details:

* Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3x12 format)
* Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
* Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience required
* Travel experience required
* Experience with pre cardiac cath and managing ports required
* Epic charting experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
* Active Kentucky or compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Support ED boarders across the system - patients waiting for a bed in the ED who require inpatient care
* Float potential between Edgewood and Florence campuses as needed, as well as to Observation Units, Med/Surg, and Med/Surg Telemetry units
* Patient ratio experience of 5 to 6 patients
* Key skills include: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, managing cardiac drips (no titration), PICC line management, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post hemodialysis management, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Special equipment includes lift equipment, iPad for communication, and pacemaker interrogation
* Scrubs must be navy blue with no agency or brand logos
* No nose rings or gauged earrings permitted
* Natural fingernails required for direct patient care staff; nails must be less than 1/4" in length; polish is acceptable
* Strict no-call policy in place
* Holiday coverage is expected
