Opportunity:
RN - Intermediate Care Unit
Job Details:
* Work 3x12 day shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week
* No on-call requirements
* Schedule varies based on department needs and may include weekends and holidays
* Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Eve + Day counts as 1 holiday)
* May be required to pick up one additional shift during each 4-week schedule period
* May be required to float to other areas of the organization up to competency level
* Provide care in an 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit focusing on patients with severe but non-life-threatening conditions requiring moderately complex assessments and interventions
* Care for patients with general medical disease processes including post ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory conditions
* Must have experience with drip titrations, ventilated patients, transvenous pacemaker management, and neuro/stroke patients
* Must have experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, art lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management
* Minimum 2 years of IMC/Stepdown experience required; Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred
* Must pass an ECG/Telemetry exam including reading and interpreting rhythm strips - failure results in contract termination
* Prior travel experience of at least one 13-week assignment required
* Nevada RN license required prior to start
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Facility:
This facility is an extremely busy and fast-paced Level II Trauma Center serving a 500-mile radius with stroke accreditation and 800 inpatient beds. The volume and pace are comparable to that of a Level I trauma center, treating over 80,000 emergency and trauma patients per year. The facility is home to a children's hospital, a robotic surgery institute, comprehensive brain and nerve care, and heart and cancer services, with state-of-the-art technologies including PET/CT scanning, biplane angiography, and 3T MRI.
