Opportunity:

RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Job Details:

* Night shift position with hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Clock-in window is between 6:38 PM and 6:46 PM; arriving outside this window is considered late
* Work schedule follows either a Monday through Thursday team or a Friday through Sunday team
* Holidays are rotated with permanent staff; every other holiday can be expected
* No on-call responsibilities
* Scrub color required: Ceil blue; only a ceil blue jacket may be worn
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 prior travel contract
* Experience in facilities with 300+ beds required
* Must be comfortable with high and heavy workloads
* Therapists perform 550 minutes of treatments per shift, averaging 15 minutes per treatment and 13-15 patients per shift
* Must be comfortable and experienced with intubating patients as respiratory therapists serve as the first line for intubation
* Duties include nebulizers, airway management, Vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, CPT, A-line placement, bronchoscopies, and blood gas management
* Ventilators used: Servo vents (U and I models)
* ICU therapists manage up to 4 airways per shift
* Must be able to read ABGs, alert on critical values, and make confident vent management suggestions
* Common patient diagnoses include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancer
* Adult therapists will also see pediatric patients
* Charting system: Meditech
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC, PALS
* Georgia state license required
* NRP certification required if assigned to NICU
* Must be within a 75-mile radius of the facility

Facility:

This acute care facility is a large hospital with 300+ beds offering comprehensive respiratory therapy services across multiple care settings including adult ICU, general floors, and NICU. The facility operates with 24/7 in-house hospitalist and intensivist coverage, either MDs or nurse practitioners, as well as 24/7 pharmacy support. The respiratory therapy department is well-staffed with an average of 11 therapists on day shifts and 10-11 on night shifts, led by both a Charge Respiratory Therapist and a Clinical Coordinator.
