Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Variable weekend and holiday schedule based on department needs
* Float to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once a week
* Level I Trauma Center with 20 beds, 5 trauma bays, 10 OBS beds, and hallway beds
* Fast Track area with 6 beds and 3 dedicated triage beds
* Patient ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma
* Common diagnoses include trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and strokes/TPA
* Administer and manage all common drips seen in Level I trauma ERs
* Required to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently
* Charting system: EPIC
* Fast-paced, high acuity environment
* Recent Level I or Level II trauma experience required
* BSN not required
* Valid driver's license required at submittal
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
* Must pass an open-book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (NRP preferred)
* Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Facility:

This facility is a Level I Trauma Center that is Pediatric Certified by the State and designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The emergency department operates around the clock with 24/7 in-house security and is staffed by both ED physicians and mid-level providers. The department supports a charge nurse on every shift along with nurse aides, EMTs, paramedics, and patient sitters to ensure comprehensive patient care across all areas of the department.
