Open Position: RN - CVICU

Job Details:

* 3x12-hour night shifts, including weekdays and weekends
* Patient ratio of 1:2 based on acuity; unit may have overflow patients at times warranting step-down level of care
* Must have ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience
* Must be experienced in direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR
* Must be proficient in pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz management
* Must be experienced with Impella monitoring and CRRT
* 2+ years of RN experience required
* Cardiac surgery skills required including CABG, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, carotid endarterectomies
* Experience with cardiogenic shock patients, STEMIs, complicated cardiac cath lab patients, and post-code patients
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (must be through American Heart Association where applicable)
* Charting system: Cerner
* Special equipment used: Impella CP and IABP
* Blocked schedules will be considered
* Scrubs not provided
* May occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission

This facility is home to a specialized 10-bed Cardiac Care Unit that primarily cares for cardiothoracic surgery patients. The unit is equipped to handle complex cardiac cases including open-heart surgeries, valve replacements, and high-acuity medical cardiology patients. The facility provides robust interdisciplinary support services and utilizes advanced cardiac monitoring equipment to ensure comprehensive patient care.
