RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Float pool position - will not be assigned a home unit and will float between approximately 5 units across all Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other Metro campuses as needed
* Patient ratio of 1:6
* 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period, any combination of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
* Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments required as needed per unit
* Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
* No on-call required
* Block scheduling not available
* Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
* 1 to 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS; ACLS preferred
* Missouri or Compact nursing license required
* Charting system: Epic
* Work settings include MS/Tele, Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
* Required skills include cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, rapid response team utilization, post-MI and pre/post cardiac cath care, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, continuous bladder irrigation, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central line care and management, phlebotomy, peripheral and PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips without titration, PCA management, surgical drain care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
* Patient population includes heart failure, myocardial infarction, stroke, COPD, pulmonary embolisms, bacteremia, cellulitis, hematuria, seizures, and alcohol withdrawal
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Special equipment: Epic secure chat
