PCU RN

Job Details:

* Float pool position - will not be assigned a home unit
* Will float between approximately 5 units across all Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other Metro campuses as needed
* Patient ratio of 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends
* Minimum of 8 weekend shifts required every six weeks (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
* Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
* 1 to 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
* No on-call required
* Block scheduling not available
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off
* Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must be the regular assigned shift length
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* Preferred certifications: ACLS
* Missouri or Compact license required; Kansas license may also be required for floating between facilities
* Charting system: Epic
* Required skills: Cardiac Telemetry, Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry on-unit monitoring, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, MS/Tele, Neuro Stepdown
* Preferred skills: Sheath Removal, Feeding tube care and management, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line care and management
* Patient diagnoses include: Sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, Renal Failure, AFIB, GIB, Stroke
* Patient population: Adults and Geriatrics
* Special equipment: Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, Omnicell
* NIH Stroke Scale required
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
* Previous Charge experience preferred
