Opportunity:
Echocardiographer
Job Details:
* Day shift position from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
* 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
* Full-time schedule
* High volume hospital environment - must be able to perform 9 studies per shift
* Weekend availability required
* Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on both adult and pediatric patients
* Performs technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams
* Coordinates activities with interrelated hospital departments including scheduling exams, transporting patients, and ensuring accurate billing information
* Assists cardiologist during dictation of exams by preparing and measuring M-modes and providing pertinent diagnostic information
* Responds to patient needs during exams and reports changes in patient condition to physician or nurse in charge
* Maintains quality control of equipment operation and quality of examinations performed
* Shares responsibility for on-call coverage for echo emergency exams outside of regular working hours
* Assists with other cardiac procedures as needed
* Two years of active echocardiography experience preferred
* Required certifications: A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation
* State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required
* BLS certification issued through American Heart Association required
* High school diploma or equivalent required; two-year allied health education program preferred
* Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
* Must be able to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions
