Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts in an Emergency Department setting
* Every 3rd weekend required, including holidays when scheduled
* No on-call responsibilities
* Required to work 1-2 of the following Winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years
* Care for Trauma, Stroke, OB, and advanced cardiac patients
* Unit has 16 beds with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
* Critical drips administered on unit
* Scrub color: Navy, Black, or Gray solid tops and bottoms
* 24 months of current/recent Emergency Department experience required
* Recent travel experience highly preferred
* EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
* All candidates must be at least 50 miles from the facility
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC
* De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, CPI) preferred - can be obtained during onboarding
* NIH Stroke Scale certificate preferred - can be obtained during onboarding
* Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multi-state license required
* Skills checklist specific to Emergency Department discipline required
* Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
* Valid driver's license required

This facility features a 16-bed Emergency Department equipped to handle a wide range of critical cases, including trauma, stroke, OB, and advanced cardiac patients. The unit maintains a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio and utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system. The facility provides comprehensive emergency services and supports its clinical staff with robust resources to deliver high-quality patient care.
