Opportunity:

WNTR BLOCK 1ST TIMERS - LEVEL III NICU RN

Job Details:

* Block schedules required
* Weekend shifts required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period with variable, self-scheduling
* No on-call required
* Self-scheduling format
* Patient ratios of 1:2-4
* May float PRN to Pediatrics, PICU, and Pediatric ED
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* 2+ years of NICU experience required; Level III experience preferred as this is a Level IV unit
* Open to contracts longer than 13 weeks if desired
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Scrub color: Navy (all RNs)
* Free parking available in any unrestricted space; bike racks available
* Patient population: Neonates
* Unit census: 35 daily; 43 beds
* Patient diagnoses include prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, surgical cases (all subspecialties except cardiac), and HIE
* Advanced skills required include but are not limited to: arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line care, high frequency ventilation, therapeutic hypothermia, ventilator management, UAC/UVC management, nitric oxide, IV vasopressors, and neonatal dosage calculations
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal

This facility is a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 181 total staffed beds. The facility provides comprehensive neonatal and pediatric care, including a Level IV NICU with a 43-bed unit and an average daily census of 35 patients. The organization offers interdisciplinary support including interpretation services and is equipped to handle a wide range of complex neonatal diagnoses and surgical subspecialties.
