Opportunity:

WNTR BLOCK 1ST TIMERS - LEVEL III NICU RN

Job Details:

* Block schedule required with self-scheduling
* Weekend shifts required - 6 shifts per 6-week scheduling period, variable
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios of 1:2-4
* Float may be required to PRN Pediatrics, PICU, and Pediatric ED
* 2+ years of NICU experience required; Level III experience preferred as this is a Level IV unit
* Open to contracts longer than 13 weeks
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Navy scrubs required for all RNs
* Free parking available in unrestricted spaces
* Must be comfortable with advanced NICU skills including but not limited to: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line care, high frequency ventilation, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, mechanical ventilator management, nitric oxide, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, and tracheostomy care
* Must be comfortable caring for neonatal patient diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE, and surgical cases across all subspecialties except cardiac
* Unit has 43 beds with a daily census of 35
* Interpretation services available for interdisciplinary support
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Facility:

This is a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 181 total staff beds. The facility operates a Level IV NICU with 43 beds and a daily census of approximately 35 patients, providing comprehensive neonatal care across a wide range of diagnoses and surgical subspecialties. The unit offers interdisciplinary support including interpretation services and is equipped to handle complex neonatal cases requiring advanced clinical expertise.
