WNTR BLOCK 1ST TIMERS - LEVEL III NICU RN

Job Details:

* Block schedules required
* Weekends required - 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period with variable, self-scheduling
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios of 1:2-4
* Position may float to PRN Pediatrics, PICU, and Pediatric ED
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility - refusal to float may result in termination and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* 2+ years of NICU experience required; Level III experience preferred as this is a Level IV unit
* Open to contracts longer than 13 weeks if desired
* Self-scheduling
* Scrub color: Navy for all RNs
* Free parking available in any unrestricted space; bike racks available
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, due during compliance process and prior to start
* Advanced skills required include: Administration of blood and blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics/antivirals, APGAR scoring, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw, central line/implanted line care, developmental care, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula, high frequency ventilation, ICP monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, nitric oxide, oscillators, therapeutic hypothermia, tracheostomy care, UAC/UVC management, ventilator management, and VP shunts among others
* Patient population: Neonates with diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, surgical subspecialties (except cardiac), and HIE
* Unit census: 35 daily with 43 beds total
* Interpretation services available as interdisciplinary support

Facility:

This is a Children's Hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 181 total staffed beds. The facility is equipped to handle a wide range of neonatal and pediatric conditions and offers a comprehensive Level IV NICU environment. The unit supports care for neonates across a variety of complex diagnoses and surgical subspecialties, with a strong interdisciplinary team and interpretation services available to support diverse patient populations.
