Job Details:

* High risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with 4 operating rooms
* Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
* 31 rooms and 31 beds on unit
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
* Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum units and may float to sister facilities for Mother/Baby coverage
* Functions in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continues care of newborn until transfer to Postpartum
* Must circulate for C-sections - hard stop requirement
* Provide newborn care including eyes and Vitamin K injections, thigh injections, and newborn assessments
* Administer and manage Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
* Must be proficient with EPIC electronic fetal monitoring - hard stop requirement
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Patient ratio experience of 1:2 required
* Must be comfortable working in fast-paced, high acuity environments
* At least 1 year of experience required with high risk experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Required skills include: amnioinfusion, antepartum care, C-section circulation and recovery, electronic fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, newborn assessment, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin administration, postpartum hemorrhage management, and triage of obstetrical patients

This high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery facility operates 4 operating rooms and manages an impressive 500-600 deliveries per month. The unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and serves a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients. The facility utilizes EPIC for electronic fetal monitoring and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including interpretation services. The unit maintains a collaborative environment with sister facilities to ensure seamless patient care across campuses.
